FAQ’s

How do I pay tuition?

Standard methods of payment are cash, check (written out to Little Bears Playhouse), or bank transfer (please contact the Director for account number). A 2% convenience fee will be applied for credit card transactions.

What if I can’t pick up my child? Can someone else do it?

The parent or parent designee is required to pick the child up. Your designated pick up person needs to be listed on the child’s emergency card and will be required to show ID if we are unfamiliar with them. If no one is available or can’t be reached the family can discuss child care with a teacher on duty.

What if I am late for picking my child up?

You are required to call the facility to alert the staff of your tardiness. Depending on the length of stay you can have your designated emergency contact to pick your child up or there will be a fee of $5 per minute for any child picked up after 6 pm, paid to the teacher on duty. Children may not be in our care for more than 10 hours per day. There is a charge of $10 per time this happens.

What if I decide not to attend or need to pull my child out of school before the end of the session?

There are no make-ups or credits allowed for sick days, vacation days, or no shows. If You choose to end your enrollment or change your reservation, families are asked to provide a 30 day written notice. Without proper notice, you will be responsible for paying one month’s tuition regardless of attendance.

Where can I get more information about family services available in Alaska?

The State of Alaska’s Department of Health and Social Services has lots of information for families with children available on the Alaska DHSS website and a list of state resources available HERE.
